Challenge the Neighborhood

Our local mission outreach to the community of Lebanon is continuing with Challenge the Neighborhood nights.

On the nights of August 13th, 20th, and 27th, our UBC family will walk their own neighborhoods as well as targeted neighborhoods of Lebanon for distributing the good news through the Challenge Newspaper. We will also distribute food pantry bags for neighbors to fill with groceries which the UBC team will stop and pick up on their way back. This food will be provided to needy families through the Lebanon Food Pantry and the UBC food ministry.

Here is how this will work:

Each Sunday morning, starting August 10, targeted neighborhoods for that week will be announced along with the neighborhood leader’s name, phone number, and email address.

Pick up Challenge Newspapers from the altar of the sanctuary. For the individuals who will distribute the Challenge Newspaper in their own neighborhood which has not been targeted.

Distribution will be scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Neighborhood leaders are needed who live in these neighborhoods to recruit, lead, and coordinate our volunteers and spear-head our mission.

Volunteers need to contact neighborhood leaders and meet by 6:30 p.m. in the targeted neighborhood with leadership team.

Do you have a heart for missions?

Matthew 18:12-14 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."

As the verse above so vividly illustrates, God has a heart for missions.  Our Missions website is designed to provide up to date information about the local, national, and international evangelistic efforts of Urbancrest Baptist Church.  We humbly and personally invite you to browse our website to find out more about Urbancrest and our heart for missions. Perhaps your heart will inspire you to find your mission, here at Urbancrest Baptist Church.
